"Shay was recommended to us by our real estate agent. We didn’t really know anything about staging a house, but we knew it had to be done. When Shay first came over, she explained the whole process to us and put us at ease right away. She used as much of our own stuff as possible, which kept some of the costs down (and made me feel good about our choices). I cannot believe how hard she worked. She has a fantastic eye for detail, and excellent taste. It’s clear to see that Shay has a passion for her work, and it helped keep us motivated during a stressful time. She made our house look absolutely beautiful. It actually made me question our decision to move. Our house sold in a week, and I believe this was due in large part to Shay’s simple, yet elegant sense of design. And, aside from her excellent work, Shay was totally fun to work with. She was easygoing and had a fantastic attitude. I highly recommend Shay, and look forward to working with her in our new house." Keith, Old Toronto, May 2015
Home Staging can be somewhat superficial to highly involved.
If you are living in the home, I can often work with your existing furniture, to make the experience less expensive, and so that you and your family can continue to live comfortably in the space during the sale process. If the space is vacant, my work is actually easier, so my fee is less, but typically rentals are required throughout.
There is often a need to remove some items from the home, especially in areas that are overflowing. Renting alternatives or additions can make a surprisingly big difference. I only recommend things if I believe they are necessary; I know how expensive it can be to prepare your home properly, and I believe in getting the best value at the least expense. |
The Assessment:
My first step is to always do an in person consultation, at which time I record notes and photographs to fully assess the specific needs to stage the home. This initial assessment ($225 within the GTA) will be emailed to you and your real estate agent, from which we can determine next steps and costs together. The following are all the possible needs that could be addressed, but every home is different, so may or may not need every aspect of service. I would be happy to discuss your project, please call or email for further details! |
